morning. bill, yesterday was fantastic. we're looking at another beauty today. >> it just won't be as warm as you mentioned. we're really not far from the 60s right now. it's 58 degrees here at nbc 10. we will warm into the 60s, but we're not going to see the 80s like we enjoyed yesterday afternoon. right now, skies are completely clear. a nigh views from the lowe's hole in center city. there are some cooler spots at 59 in wilmington. middle 50s for trenton and northeast philadelphia while it's in the low 50s in pottstown and wrights town. roxborough 56 degrees. 54 at northeast philadelphia airport. and 59 degrees right now in south philadelphia. stand by with your sunglasses. there are some cloudiness moving through the center city area right now, but those clouds will thin out. we'll see another nice day ahead. 54 degrees at 7:00. by 10:00, a 58 degrees, and 62

degrees by 1:00 this afternoon. there is some rainfall in our future. a look at what's coming our way, when i'm back in ten. new from overnight in burlington county, crews are looking for the cause of a house fire in mt. holly. a viewer captured this video and you can see the smokey scene. flames hit the home along church street just before midnight. firefighters got control a few hours later. they called for a demolition crew to board up the house because of safety concerns. right now, no reports of any injuries. officials in lehigh county have issued a voluntary evacuation due to a forest fire on blue mountain. according to the allentown morning call the fire has already burned more than 100 acres. it started yesterday afternoon in east penn township car bonn county, and then spread towards lehigh county. the red cross set up a reception center in washington township, in case people need a place to go. no one was hurt. new this morning, a shooting on the campus of delaware state

university that injured three people. the school is in dover, kent county. the school's president says the gunfire erupted last night during a fraternity/sorority cookout, approved by the university. you're looking at video from an off-campus shooting in november. the school says the three victims from last night's gunfire are in stable condition. we're working to find out if they were students. authorities say a fight broke out right before the shooting. various law enforcement agencies are on the scene. so far there have been no arrests. use the nbc 10 app and stay with nbc 10 for updates on this. now, the university's president, harry williams released a statement that said in part the safety of our students continues to be paramount, and our police will aggressively continue their investigation until an arrest or arrests are made in this shooting incident. a 3-year-old girl is fighting for her life this morning after she was attacked by a family dog.

animal control officers removed the dog, a cane corso, from the home in washington avenue in philadelphia's cobb's creek section last night. the little girl was being held by her mother when the dog apparently got jealous. the animal mauled the child's head. police say officers called to the scene acted quickly. >> first and responding officers did not wait for fire rescue or rescue squad to show up. they took the baby immediately to the hospital and there's no doubt in my mind their actions saved that child's life. >> the child underwent surgery and is in stable but critical condition. the grandmother tried to protect the little girl and ended up with bites on her hands. the dog's fate will be decided by animal control. this morning authorities are trying to figure out what caused a local high school player to die after collapsing during a workout. ryan gillyard was a freshman. the 15-year-old suddenly collapsed yesterday morning during spring workouts. he died a short time later at

the hospital. right now, it's unclear just what caused this. administrators at st. joe's prep says grief counseling services are being provided for students throughout the weekend and into monday. they released a statement saying ryan was a great person and someone we were proud to have as part of our community. we will do whatever we can to support his family and friends, especially the members of the freshman class and the football team. a trenton man who police say tried to lure an 8-year-old girl into his car in bucks county is now facing felony charges. only nbc 10 was there last night when ben salem township police took juan perez-juarez to jail. investigators say after the girl refused to get into his car, juarez exposed himself and urinated in front of her. police say juarez then drove away, but crashed into a light pole and a parked car, injuring another driver. authorities credited the girl with some quick thinking. >> this girl did the right thing. her parents did a good job and the schools did a good job training her. she didn't get in the car and

she basically told him no. he's a sick guy. you know there's no explanation for people that act that way. but he's not going to do it on our streets anymore. >> we've learned juarez is an undocumented immigrant from guatemala. police say they hope he's deported. philadelphia police tell us a woman will face charges in what they are calling an intentional hit-and-run that stemmed from a love triangle. according to authorities, the woman turned herself in late yesterday morning. that was just a few hours after the white suv allegedly used to hit beatrice spence was found in fern rock. that was breaking news yesterday morning here on nbc 10 news today. police believe the suspect was spence's romantic rival. they say she ran over spence in the city's nicetown section friday afternoon. one of spence's legs was severed and she remains in the hospital. the name of the alleged hit-and-run driver has not yet been released. new information into a brush fire in bucks county. according to the bucs' county courier time ss, officials believe

now, you talk about a guy with a great attitude. >> you got to hand it to that san francisco giants fan, who got a foul ball in his beer last night. when he couldn't get the baseball out of his cup, he figured, what the heck finished that beer anyway. now your nbc 10 first alert weather. >> we're starting off on the cool side but not all that chilly. we're at 58 degrees here at nbc 10. and we'll see a lot of sunshine today. there are some high clouds moving through the area right now. it's a live view from south philadelphia. the view of what's coming our way, not so clear for tomorrow. that rain that you can see in the south, that's going to be marching toward us. and early tomorrow morning, the first raindrops will fall. but not during the day today. we'll just be watching the temperatures climb from the 50s, into the low 60s by noontime today. 61 in philadelphia at that hour while it's 58 in trenton and 59 in allentown. as we go into the afternoon, there'll be a few extra high

clouds for wilmington and dover. 60s for philadelphia. the clouds will be increasing during the evening hours. no rain during the early evening hours. the first raindrops ahead of tomorrow's heavy rainfall come in at 2:00 tomorrow morning. a closer look at that heavy rainfall potential when i come back. from our jersey shore bureau, fire burned through a building along the atlantic city expressway. smoke poured from a storage shed at barley plaza in hamilton township yesterday. no one was hurt. investigators are now trying to determine how the fire started. next this morning, ringo starr makes his mark in music industry history, but it's not because of the beatles. that story when we come right back.

eleica, the 2-year-old boy was killed in a hit-and-run. his mother was injured. loved is ones say they're still waiting for justice. the toddler died after he was struck by a car in kensington monday night. police say they figured out who is responsible, but have not yet made an arrest. meantime relatives is and friends of 4-year-old latisse william who died from a different hit-and-run on monday held a memorial service yesterday in west philadelphia. a car struck the child in kingsessing, then drove office. police say they know who the driver is but she has not yet turned herself in. >> it's a terrible loss to both families and we need justice. people just need to at this point, step up and help us have closure. >> reporter: >> police say the woman wanted in the crash that killed latif has hired a lawyer and that lawyer says it's not likely

she'll turn herself in today. happening today, a ceremony will mark 20 years since the oklahoma city bombing. former president bill clinton is scheduled to speak. he was president at time of the terror attack and declared it a federal emergency. it was on this day, two decades ago, that army buddies timothy mcveigh and terry nichols drove a truck bomb into the alpha p. murrah building. they were convicted of killing 68 people and injuring hundreds more. mcveigh was executed in 2001 and nichols is still in prison. it was the worst terrorist attack on u.s. soil prior to 9/11. today is also the 22nd anniversary of the end of the siege at the branch davidian compound in waco, texas. in february of 1993 law enforcement officers raided the ranch of david koresh and his followers. that started a 51-day standoff. it ended on april 19th when federal agents fired tear gas into the compound. a fire erupted and 76 people died. it has been two years since

the boston marathon bombing, and tomorrow, 30,000 runners will take their marks for this year's race which will be under heavy security. officials say they have been preparing for the event for an entire year. state police and officers from surrounding towns will be patrolling the course some on bicycles. also, there are more miles of fencing between the runners and fans, and security crews will screen spectators before entering the finish line bleachers. >> we certainly have people's back. they can relax, and enjoy their time. but, like anything else in this day and age, something's out of the ordinary. please say something. >> three people died and 260 were hurt when two bombs went off at the 2013 boston marathon. earlier this month, a federal jury convicted dzhokar tsarnaev on all counts against him. he could face the death penalty when sentenced. an editing request from oscar winner ben affleck is included in one of the e-mails

hacked from sony pictures and published by wikileaks. in the e-mail affleck asked a pbs show not to reveal that one of his ancestors was a slave owner. pbs said they did not sensor that information, but skipped it in favor of more interesting affleck ancestors. wikileaks published hundreds of thousands of e-mails from the sony hack last year. ringo starr will go into the rock 'n' roll hall of fame as a solo act. they voted in the former beatles owner. punk group green day and singers lou reid and bill withers also will be inducted in a ceremony in cleveland on saturday. you are looking at the end of an era along the avenue of the arts. yesterday, workers indian demolishing the philadelphia international records building. the historic structure on broad steet street was the longtime headquarters of kenny gamble and

ronny hoff. it gutted the building back in 2010. gamble and huff created the sound of philadelphia turning out chart-topping hits from their study for more than 40 years. stars including matty jackson, and patti labelle all recorded at philadelphia international records. >> they created some of the greatest music in the world. we hear songs such as love train and all the artists and producers that worked with us over the years, i don't think there's been anything like that in philadelphia. >> a high-rise hotel and condominium will be built on the site. it's expected to open in 2017. from our jersey shore bureau wells fargo is offering $300,000 to get the electricity turned back on for two weeks at the former rebel casino hotel in atlantic city. the company made the offer to alleviate dangers from the stalemate between a power company and the building's new owner. the fire department says battling a blaze in the building without electricity would be nearly impossible.

florida developer glen straub bought the defunct resort on april 7th and power was cut two days later. atlantic city is fining straub $5,000 for each day it's off for fire code violations. a $50 million renovation of atlantic city's tropicana casino is expected to be completed by memorial day. the plans include an outdoor light show on the building's facade, that will be visible from miles away. the project also calls for a fitness center that will be open to the public. well philly tech week is now underway. the week kicked off at dillward park. the app arcade featured more than 50 locally developed games. tech tweak 2015 is featured by comcast, the parent company of nbc 10. mostly clear skies right

now. clear of any rainfall. there are some high clouds moving through, but we'll see lots of sunshine. but compared to yesterday, it won't be as hot. we saw 81 degrees ss yesterday afternoon. we'll be in the 60s today. right now we're tracking some rain that's due in tomorrow morning, and for much of the day tomorrow, we'll see some rain possibly some late-day thunderstorms as well. those heavy downpours could lead to some localized flooding tomorrow. right now, you can see the high clouds moving past the camera at the nbc 10 studios. 59 degrees at philadelphia international. that's up a degree in the last hour. winds out of the northeast at 9 miles an hour. we're getting closer to sunrise this morning and the skies are starting to brighten in the pocono mountains. a live view from lake wallenpaupack. they're getting ready for boating season. and sunshine will be bright in the mountains. right now, 54 degrees for chester springs, kennett square is in the middle 50s, along with washington township. wrights town down to 58.

farther west and north, you'll find some 40s for allentown. 45 in quakertown. but for delaware mainly in the 50s right now. millville is down to 52 degrees, but it's 57 in woodbine and swedesboro, 55 degrees right now. with sunshine those temperatures are going to warm. you see the high clouds are moving through the area right now. nothing falling from the clouds and they will thin out for lots of sunshine today and we'll get a nice warm up today, nice spring day. but there come the spring showers. steady rain and the possibility of some thunderstorms. all that cloud cover producing rain. it's a bit heavier in northwestern georgia into tennessee and alabama, as well seeing some heavy downpours with some thunderstorm activity. this is what's going to be pushing into our area for tomorrow. this rain is going to steer clear of us all day today. in fact, the clouds will stay out of the picture for us 1:00 this afternoon, we'll still be enjoying plenty of sunshine. during the late afternoon and
